Questions Answers

What is the process for hiring Jacque Miller Photography for my session?

1.  We have a consultation to plan your shoot and I create a contract based on our plans.

2.  You then sign the contract, which will include the date of the shoot.

3.  I will contact you in 1-3 weeks after your shoot  to schedule your proofing session.

4.  During your proofing session, you decide which collection you want to purchase and make the payment at that time.

*Photography is an investment.  This is why I am happy to offer payment plans.  Your products will simply be ordered once payment in full has been received.

How do payments work? Full payment is due when you place your order, unless you choose a payment plan. If selecting a payment plan, the appropriate paper work will be signed and you will make your interest-free monthly payments. Your order will be placed once the final payment has been received.
What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, checks, money orders, Mastercard, Visa, American Express, and debit cards. There is a $40 fee for returned checks.

What if I cancel my session? I simply ask that you contact me in advance if you need to cancel the session.
Do you have a studio, or do you shoot on location? I shoot on location.  I find that many of the most memorable images happen in your natural environment.
How many outfit changes should I bring? The number of outfit changes you should bring along is dependent upon the type and length of the session.  We will discuss this more in depth during your consultation.
Should I go tanning before my session? No.  Please do not go tanning at least a week before your session in order to avoid unflattering skin tones.

Do you travel to various locations?

Absolutely!  I live in Gary, IN and travel to locations within a 50 mile radius.  If your location is further than that, or if you would like your session to be captured in multiple locations, a travel fee is applied. The amount of the travel fee is dependent upon the distance and time.
Do you enhance your photos? Yes.  Every image that I deliver is digitally enhanced.
How long after the session will it take before we see our images? Your images are typically ready to view in 1-3 weeks after your session.
What happens after my photos are ready? I contact you to schedule a proofing session. During the proofing session, you select a collection, order the prints and products that go along with the collection, and pay for your purchase.
How long does it take for me to receive my products once I place my order? Products are typically delivered 3 weeks from the time the order is placed.
What is the process for ordering photo books and albums? During our proofing session, you may select the images you'd like included in your photo book, or you may give me permission to use my expertise to design the book as I see fit.  (I do not guarantee that every image you want will be included, as it is all dependent upon the layout and size, but I will work with you to make sure it is what you want.)  Once the book or album is created, I will send the proof to you for your approval.  I will make one change at no additional charge.  After that, additional changes to the layout will be made at a price of $30 per change you are requesting.  Once you approve the final proof, I send it to my lab to be created.

Do you sell the high resolution digital images? Yes!  High resolution images are part of certain collections.
For how long do you keep my images? I will keep your images for at least 2 years.
Do you exclusively use natural light, or do you also use light modifiers?  I love to use a combination of natural light and light modifiers, such as reflectors and off-camera flashes.  These modifiers add the WOW factor that will make your images stand out.
What types of portrait sessions do you do?

Newborn, children, tweens, teens, seniors, maternity, and family session.

I also shoot engagement sessions, though this is a complimentary session provided when a wedding package is purchased.

Boudoir sessions: Many women like to use this as a gift to that special someone.  Boudoir sessions are shot from the privacy of your own home, and your images are NOT used on social media.

What time do you shoot?

I typically schedule outdoor sessions around 'golden hour'.  (This is the gorgeous time of day that takes place one hour before sunset.)  I like my sessions to begin about 90 minutes before sunset. Indoor sessions, which are typical of newborn sessions, may be scheduled for any time of day, though I try to schedule them between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.when lots of natural light is coming though the windows.   However, these times are not set in stone.  We will schedule sessions for a time that best suits you.
